Tap track parts to connect them, then check and share your layout. This guide walks you through every screen with screenshots, so you can follow along in the app.
The screen has three main areas: the canvas in the middle where you build the course, the part buttons on the left (below the canvas on phones), and the menu at the top. On a wide PC screen, a 3D preview also appears on the right.
The editing screen on a PC. On phones the areas are stacked vertically, but they work the same way
Canvas (center) … Shows your course from directly above. Parts are drawn white with an outline; parts you have colored are shown in their color
Part buttons (left / bottom on phones) … Buttons for straights, corners and more. Tap one to add it to the course
Top menu … ↶ Undo↷ Redo📁 Courses🔗 ShareView in 3D⋯
⋯ (More) … Seam lines, 🗑 Clear all, 🌙 Dark mode, 📖 How to use, 🌐 日本語 (switch the display language) and more
3D preview (right, PC only) … Updates as you edit. Drag to rotate it, and use ⛶ at its top right to fit the whole course back into view
Area size (top left) … Enter the size of your room or table to see whether the course fits (chapter 8)
💾 There is no save button. Every edit is saved automatically (in this device's browser; nothing is sent to a server).
2.Building a course (basics)
There is only one thing to do: tap a part button and it snaps onto the end of the course. No need to adjust its position or angle.
The part buttons: straights, corners, waves, lane changes, slopes, banks and more
A new course starts with a single start straight
Tap “Corner 45° (L)” twice → the course turns 90°
Keep tapping parts to extend the course
If you make a mistake
↶ Undo reverts the last edit and ↷ Redo brings it back (on PC: Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y)
Right-clicking the canvas (long-press on phones) also undoes one step
📏 The ½¼⅛ buttons next to “Straight” add short straights of 270mm, 135mm and 67.5mm. Use them to fine-tune the length at the end.
3.Closing the loop and total length
A race course should be a closed loop that returns to the start. The app always calculates how far off the loop currently is.
Tap “… parts · … m total” at the top left to open the part breakdown and loop closure error. When the loop is almost closed, the missing parts are shown as an orange dashed outline
Tap … parts · … m total ▼ at the top left of the canvas
When the Position, Heading and Height under “Loop closure error” are all zero, it shows “Loop closed ✓”
If the loop is off, the “Balance check” shows which directions have too many parts (and what to add to cancel them out)
If a few parts can close it, you will see “Add these … part(s) at the end to close the loop”. Press ⚑ Close the loop to add them automatically
🤖 If closing it by hand is hard, the auto layout's “Close my layout” mode joins the two open ends with the shortest sequence of parts.
4.Replacing and deleting parts
Tap a placed part to select it. You can then replace just that part with another one, or delete it.
A tapped part is selected (green outline) and an action bar appears at the bottom
Tap one part on the canvas (it gets a green outline)
Replace: tap a part button → the selected part is swapped and the rest of the course reconnects automatically
Delete: tap 🗑 Delete in the bar → the course closes up automatically (the start straight cannot be deleted)
To stop, tap Deselect
5.Start position and driving direction
The checkered pattern marks the start and the green arrow shows the driving direction. You can change the start position, the course orientation, the driving direction and the end you add parts to.
Tools at the bottom left of the canvas: “✂ Edit section”, “Add to” and “Start dir”
Move the start … Select a straight → ⚑ Set as start
Rotate the whole course … ↺↻ rotate it 45° at a time
Which end to add to … Green + = the end ahead in the driving direction (tail), Blue + = behind the start (head). Choose which end new parts go on
Reversing the driving direction (⇄)
After reversing, directional parts get a ⟲ mark. Select one and the bar says “⟲ Backwards”
Press ⇄ to reverse only the driving direction — every part stays where it is
Directional parts such as slopes and lane-change jumps get a ⟲ mark, meaning they now face against the driving direction (an uphill slope is driven downhill after reversing)
Selecting a part with ⟲ shows “⟲ Backwards (placed against the driving direction)” in the action bar
Parts you add after reversing are placed the right way round for the new driving direction (an up slope goes up, a jump points forward)
6.Editing a section (rebuilding the middle)
Use this when you want to rebuild just one stretch. Select a range and only that part becomes editable. The app remembers the rest of the course and reconnects it afterwards.
The selected range gets a green outline and an action bar appears at the bottom
Tap ✂ Edit section at the bottom left of the canvas (a help card appears the first time)
Tap the first part → last part of the range you want to rebuild
Tap Edit this range → the range is removed and you can rebuild from there
Add parts until you reach the green connector; when it says “✓ Reached connector”, tap Connect & finish. If you tap Finish (append rest to end) without reaching it, the rest of the course follows your new end
Tap Cancel to revert everything. ? shows the help card at any time
7.Adding elevation (making a hill)
Recreate the common trick of propping up straights or corners to make a hill. The selected range becomes a gentle hill rising (or falling) by one slope unit (110mm).
Just choose up or down. ? also opens the section-editing help card
✂ Edit section → tap to select the range you want to tilt
Tap ⛰ Add elevation
Choose ⤴ Up +110mm or ⤵ Down −110mm
Tilted parts show ▲ (up) or ▼ (down). Check the hill in the 3D view
To remove it, select the same range and tap ⛰ Remove elevation
Not available for ranges containing slopes, banks or other parts with built-in elevation
Elevation also counts toward the “Height” of the loop closure error (the loop only closes if it comes back down somewhere)
8.Fitting the layout into your area
Enter the size of your room or venue and a frame and a badge tell you whether the course fits.
Turn on ☑ Area size at the top left and enter W × D (m)
The canvas shows the area frame (green) and the actual size of the layout (orange dashed line)
If it fits you will see “✓ Fits within the area”; if it sticks out, the frame turns red with “⚠ Exceeds area”
L-, T- or U-shaped rooms (custom area)
Just tap the grid cells where the course cannot go. Works for any room shape
Tap ⊞ below the area size → the settings open (reopen them later with ⊞ Edit shape)
Enter W, D and the grid size to show the grid
Tap the cells where the course cannot go (furniture, pillars and so on) → if the course touches a painted cell, it counts as exceeding the area
In this mode the frame stays fixed and you can drag the whole course to any position inside it. ▭ switches back to a plain rectangle
9.Auto layout
This feature builds a closed loop that fits your area automatically. You can generate from scratch or close a course you have started.
The auto layout screen. Set your conditions and press “🎲 Generate” to preview the result
Turn on the area size and tap 🎲 Auto layout
From scratch: set the min total length (3 lanes), the number of lane changes, the max height and rules (e.g. “Slope (up) → Straight × 2”), then press 🎲 Generate
Close my layout: joins the two open ends of your current course with the shortest sequence of parts (the start stays where it is)
Not happy? Press 🎲 Reroll. Like it? Press Use this layout (or Apply this connection when closing your layout)
Turn on “Stay within registered stock” to keep within your part stock
“Use My Sections (count)” inserts your own saved part combinations a set number of times
Bank parts are not used by the generator. To add them, swap them in afterwards with section editing
⚠ Generation is randomized. If it fails, rerolling a few times often succeeds. The longer the minimum length, the more likely it is to fail.
10.Viewing in 3D
Tap View in 3D in the top menu to see the course in 3D. Slopes, elevation and overpasses are clear at a glance.
The 3D view. At an overpass, the upper track casts a shadow on the track below
Camera … Drag to rotate, right-drag (two fingers on phones) to pan, wheel or pinch to zoom
Fit view ⛶ … The button at the top right brings the whole course back into view. The camera does not move when you add parts, so use it when you lose track of the course (the 3D preview on PC has one too)
Brightness … Adjust it with the ☀ slider at the top right
Driving preview … ▶ Drive runs the camera once around the course (■ Stop ends it). Switch between Low, High and Car view with “📷 Drive camera” in ⋯
Coloring … 🎨 Colors lets you color parts by type, or just the one part you tap in 3D. In “Paint mode” you can tap parts one after another to paint them (applied to 2D, 3D and the share card)
Display settings … Fine-tune the look with “🏞 Realistic” and “🧩 Seam lines” in ⋯
11.Sharing (URL, QR and event cards)
Use 🔗 Share to hand out your course as an image, a URL or a QR code. No sign-up is needed — the layout data is stored inside the URL itself.
The share screen. Choose the course image, card format and look, and add event details and a schedule
Tap 🔗 Share in the top menu
Choose the course image (2D top view / 3D view) and the card format (Social 16:9 / Print A4+QR). The print format includes a QR code that opens the course when scanned
Choose the look: White track (Gray draws white parts in gray so they stand out / White keeps them white) and Background of the course image (Light / Dark)
Fill in Event, Shop, Date, Venue, Organizer, Contact, Free comment and the Schedule to turn it into an event announcement card (only the fields you fill in appear on the image)
Hand it out with Share (your phone's share menu), Save image, 🖨 Print (A4 portrait) or Copy URL
People who open a shared URL see the course in view-only mode. They can check it with “View in 3D” or copy it into their own app with “Save & edit”
12.Handy features
Part stock
Register how many of each part you own with 📦 Set part stock in the stats panel. The part buttons then show how many are left, so you can build within what you have (blank = unlimited). The auto layout also has a “Stay within registered stock” option.
My Sections / Named Parts
Save part combinations you use often (for example slope → straight → slope) and place them with a single tap. Press + New My Section or + New Named Part below the part buttons, then tap the range to save, start → end. A My Section is placed as ordinary connected parts, while a Named Part is placed as one group with its name shown on the course (handy for representing parts the app does not include, using a similar shape plus a name).
2D view modes
Switch between Fit all and Edit point at the top right of the canvas. “Edit point” keeps the add point centered at a fixed zoom, which is handy for editing large courses. In “Fit all” you can also zoom freely with the wheel or a pinch.
Saving and managing courses
📁 Courses lets you keep several courses and switch between them. You can search by name or note, sort (recently updated, longest, by mark and more), change the view mode (Detail / Compact / Gallery), add favorite marks and notes, and duplicate or delete courses.
Data is stored only in this device's browser. Back up to a file with 📤 Export all courses and load it with 📥 Import from file (also useful when moving to a new device).
Display options
From the ⋯ menu you can switch between dark and light mode, change the seam lines and switch the display language (日本語 / English).
13.FAQ
My course won't close
Check the loop closure error and the balance check in the stats panel. If the loop is only a few parts away from closing, press “⚑ Close the loop” to add the missing parts automatically. A 45° diagonal run only closes when it has a matching corner. The auto layout's “Close my layout” mode also helps.
Where is my data saved?
Everything is stored locally in this device's browser. Nothing is sent to a server. Clearing your browser data also deletes your courses, so back them up now and then with “📤 Export all courses” in “📁 Courses”.
How do I move my courses to another device?
Save a file with “📤 Export all courses” in “📁 Courses”, then load it on the other device with “📥 Import from file”. For a single course you can also open its share URL on the other device and tap “Save & edit”.
Some parts show a ⟲ mark
After you reverse the driving direction (⇄), the ⟲ mark shows directional parts such as slopes and lane-change jumps that now face against the driving direction. Their placement has not changed. To make one face the driving direction, select it and tap a part button to replace it; replaced parts are always placed in the driving direction.
I lost sight of the course in 3D
Press ⛶ (Fit view) at the top right of the 3D view (also at the top right of the 3D preview on PC) to bring the whole course back into view. The camera does not move when you add parts, so use this button whenever you lose track of the course.
Can the auto layout use consecutive slopes?
Turn on “Allow consecutive slopes” in the auto layout settings. Sequences such as up → up then become possible.
How do I change part colors?
In 2D, the course is drawn white with an outline by default. Use “🎨 Colors” in the 3D view to color parts by type or one at a time. Colors are applied to 2D, 3D and the share card.
